Wally Byam Memorial Park
The Village of Jackson Center is proud to offer an 8 acre municipal park to its residents which is located on the east side of the Village at the corner of State Route 274 (Pike Street) and Parkview Drive. The park features a newly renovated municipal pool with a spray park, zero entry and slide, covered shelter houses (with electric service), restrooms, picnic areas, two lighted tennis, four lighted pickleball courts two basketball courts and playground equipment.
The park features two shelter houses that are available on a first-come basis or can be reserved through the village office by calling (937) 596-6314. Electric service is available in each of the shelter houses.
- Shelter House #1 has six 10' picnic tables and can accommodate 60 people.
- Shelter House #2 has four 10' picnic tables and two 6' picnic tables and can accommodate 52 people.
While at the park your children can enjoy the playground equipment, swings, basketball courts, pickleball and tennis courts. All courts are available on a first come, first serve basis.
If you enjoy walking, this park features a paved walking track that begins at the restroom/storage building and extends around the playground equipment to the north all the way back around to the restroom/storage building (measuring approximately .20 of a mile). You can also take a walk in the woods on the north side of the park. There is a cleared, rugged walking trail that leads back to a pond on the north side of the park property.
This park also features new Tee-Ball fields on the North end of the park. The fields were recently installed and boast red infield dirt and bleachers for spectators.
There is a small parking area that you can enter from East College Street or from the Swimming Pool Drive. There is also parking available on Parkview Drive along the west side of the street.
